This Public Affairs and Communication Manager role requires a skilled professional to oversee and manage external communications and public affairs within the transport and distribution sector. The ideal candidate will be adept at fostering relationships with key stakeholders while ensuring the company's strategic messaging and positioning are consistent and effective.

Description

  • Work with the companies partners to deliver an engagement plan for UK rail/bus companies.
  • Own the stakeholder database to ensure stakeholder communication is regularly delivered.
  • Write briefing notes on policy and regulatory issues for the groups executive team.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the groups policy goals in order to write thought leadership blogs.
  • Identify opportunities for the company to promote its strategic agenda and activities at conferences and events.
  • Work with corporate communications manager to support the delivery of all aspects communications (internal,external and social media).
  • Assist with speeches for senior leadership.
  • Monitor parliamentary activity (including attending APPGs, Transport Select Committee where appropriate) and advise on key developments

Profile

  • Strong experience of public affairs and communications, either through in-house or agency roles
  • A comprehensive knowledge of politics and current affairs
  • Excellent communications skills; confident in engaging with senior leaders.
  • Collaborative team player who can influence others across the business.
  • Enthusiastic with high personal motivation and ability to use own initiative.
  • First-rate organisational and strong planning skills
  • Flexible and pragmatic with a hands-on attitude
  • Ability to challenge the status quo with the aim of improving the way we do things by influencing others to think differently.
