We are seeking a Demand & Revenue Forecast Lead to play a crucial role in understanding the impacts of initiatives across several products within this Rail Programme. The successful candidate will provide technical and intellectual support, ensuring rigor and consistency of approach and assumptions across various strategic projects.
Day to Day of the role:
- Develop and run demand and revenue models, ensuring they are tailored to specific purposes and adhere to best practice.
- Understand and challenge industry principles to modelling rail demand with bespoke techniques.
- Analyse historic data to inform how passenger demand has behaved and to predict future patterns.
- Keep abreast of the latest economic factors that may influence future rail demand and incorporate these into forecasting models.
- Provide documented assumptions when compiling models to ensure transparency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align forecasting models with strategic objectives.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Educated to a degree standard or equivalent professional qualification.
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, with a strong ability to produce forecasting models.
- A solid understanding of industry principles for modelling rail demand and the ability to apply bespoke techniques where necessary.
- Proficiency in data analysis and the use of historical data to inform forecasting.
- An analytical mindset with attention to detail and the ability to provide documented assumptions for models.
- A proactive approach to staying informed about economic factors influencing rail demand.
