The Opportunity

An experienced Interim Finance Director is required to guide a high-growth technology company of approximately 100 employees through a critical period of transformation. This role is pivotal in steering the business's financial strategy as it continues to develop cutting-edge technology for a global client base.

Role Overview

As the Interim Finance Director, you will play a vital role in supporting the company's growth by managing and overseeing all financial operations during this transitional phase. Collaborating closely with the CEO, leadership team, and broader business, you will help shape and execute the company's strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities include managing cash flow, capital, resource allocation, and compliance risks, thereby empowering senior management to make informed decisions that drive future growth. Additionally, you may provide strategic advice on external investments, growth initiatives, and new product launches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Operations: Oversee all financial operations, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Revenue Recognition, and the month-end process.
  • Year-End & Audit: Collaborate with external accountants and auditors to efficiently manage the annual audit, accounts, and tax processes.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes to provide insights for effective decision-making.
  • Financial Reporting: Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements, while maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Treasury Management: Manage cash flow, liquidity, and investments, optimising working capital and liquidity strategies.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, implementing robust strategies to safeguard company assets and investments.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the Finance Controller and Finance Manager, fostering their growth and development.
  • Board Management: Prepare for quarterly Board meetings, including the provision of management information (MI) and Board Packs. Support the internal team and Company Secretary with Board actions and communications. Liaise with Non-Executive Directors regarding financial performance.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with a proven track record in interim finance leadership roles. You should bring extensive hands-on finance experience, strong technical expertise, and a history of successfully building and managing teams.

Your ability to forge strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, along with a flexible and proactive approach, will be essential in navigating the high growth and transformative nature of this business.
