Based in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire our well-established client is seeking a Practice Accountant to join their small and busy team on a permanent and hybrid-working basis.
This job would suit someone qualified to at least AAT level 3 and will have had a minimum of 2 years' experience working in an accountancy practice or will have had many years of experience working in practice if no exams have been taken.

The successful individual will have previous experience of working within a Practice environment and will be able to take responsibility for completing tasks within a general portfolio providing a wide range of services. This candidate must have a desire to learn and develop, and ensure that work is accurate and can meet tight deadlines. Good communication skills, both written and verbal are essential to be able to take notes and report queries to directors. Strong IT and numeracy skills are a must. The services can include financial reporting, corporate taxation and personal taxation and tax planning giving you a wide range of experience.
Job responsibilities:
- Management accounts preparation
- Preparation of simple personal tax returns
- Preparation of simple Corporation Tax computations for review
- Preparation and review of VAT returns
- Preparation of Limited company accounts for a variety of clients to a standard suitable be reviewed at Director level
- Review of monthly payroll output and the ability to stand in and run payroll as and when required.
- Monitor deadlines and share responsibility for ensuring they are met.
- Monitor your assignment budgets pro-actively
- Manage client communication in an effective manner
This is a great varied role for a junior accountant to gain experience working with different clients in varying business sectors. Study opportunities, either new or continuing if you are already studying, will be available.
