Senior Quantity Surveyor

Our client is one of Yorkshire's most established and reputable Main Contractors, renowned for delivering projects that transform landscapes and communities. With a robust project pipeline ranging between £8m-£50m+, we are poised for further growth and seek a seasoned Senior Quantity Surveyor to be part of our dynamic team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Cost Management & Financial Planning:
  • Prepare cost plans and budgets by forecasting the cost of the different materials needed for the project.

  • Monitor and maintain project budget and costs throughout all phases.

  1. Contract Administration:
  • Provide commercial input including financial and contractual performance forecasts to the management team.

  • Ensure timely submission of valuations and negotiate and agree final accounts.

  1. Procurement:
  • Manage and lead the procurement of subcontract packages, ensuring they are compliant and competitive.
  1. Risk Management:
  • Proactively manage and report risks and issues, taking steps to mitigate exposure.
  1. Stakeholder Management:
  • Maintain and develop professional relationships with clients and other project stakeholders.
  1. Reporting:
  • Prepare monthly commercial reports and provide feedback on areas of risk and opportunities.
  1. Mentorship:
  • Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to less experienced quantity surveying staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related field (essential).
  • MRICS or working towards (preferred).
  • Previous experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, preferably within a main contractor environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering large projects.
