Position: Assistant Catering Manager
Location: Macclesfield
Salary: £14.41 per hour
Hours: Full-time, Permanent - 36 hours per week
Shift Pattern: 7:00am - 7:30pm, 3 days per week, includes alternative weekend working.

About Us:

Howard Finley Care are recruiting for an exceptional care home that prides themselves in excellent care and comfort to their residents. Their dedicated team ensures that every resident enjoys a homely environment, enriched with high-quality, nutritious meals. We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Assistant Catering Manager to join the team and contribute to the well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all work activities comply with work instructions and quality standards.
  • Ensure waste is kept to a minimum and disposed of quickly and effectively.
  • Liaise with Catering Manager regarding required catering arrangements.
  • As and when required assist in the provision of catering for any special functions.
  • Ensure accurate stock control.
  • Prepare and Service meals.
  • Ensure all staff are trained and know their responsibilities.
  • Comply with Health & Safety and Hygiene.
  • To complete supervisions as per charities policy.
  • To lead and take onus of the role.
  • To supervise catering team.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • An ability to demonstrate the core values of the service.
  • NVQ 1 / 2 or City & Guilds 706/1
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (or willing to attain)
  • Experience of cooking for large groups of people
  • Experience of managing a small staff team
  • Able to manage time
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours (including weekends and evenings)
  • Able to work under pressure
