Van Driver
Location: Castle Donington, Derby
Hours: 45 hours per week - 08:00 to 16:00 Monday to Friday
Pay rate: £14.74 per hour.
Due to increased demand, DHL has an opportunity for you to join their team as a temporary delivery driver to assist with current business pressure. The opportunity to become a permanent employee at DHL will be offered to candidates successful in this role. Delivery Driver Responsibilities
- Complete daily safety checks, safe loading / securing load of vehicle, maintenance, legislative / regulations and adherence to company driving standards (including tachograph vehicles).
- Scanning and working quickly and efficiently to ensure warehouse deadlines are met.
- Ability to make good decisions and work under pressure
- Complete multiple deliveries and collections of shipments of a variety of shapes, sizes and weights
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail
- Ensure correct completion of DHL / Customer data and documentation
- Sort and prioritise workload (including multiple route sort) to ensure time commitments are met
- Ensure customer needs are met through time efficient deliveries and collections
- Have a professional interest for Safety and Security of yourself, colleagues, customers and the general public
Delivery Driver Requirements
- A full and valid UK Cat B Driving licence
- Strong geographical knowledge and route planning skills
- Excellent planning and organisational skills
- Have a strong work ethic, be flexible and happy to work hard on their own initiative.
- Experience of driving a 3.5t van is preferred but not essential.
- Have good people skills that are helpful and friendly
- Previous multi-drop experience is required
