Project Manager

Facilities Management and the wider Property service is undergoing transformation within this Local Authority, and we are looking to build an FM team that will provide excellence in delivery. An important aspect of FM's responsibilities is supporting the local and national elections via provision of engineering, Soft FM support and project management capabilities. It's an exciting and challenging time and we are looking for skilled and dedicated Project Management professionals who have experience of FM and Elections delivery to join the team on an interim basis. You will need to have extensive, proven experience of working for / within a local government or similar environment; possess a wealth of building services management & Soft FM experience; work with drive and initiative; be a positive and pragmatic thinker, have very good influencing and negotiating skills; and enjoy collaborative team working, sharing the successes this brings. The successful candidate would have played a key role in delivery of local and national elections in the past. Roles will require Monday to Friday working, ability to attend the offices and around the borough as required to thoroughly oversee and manage services, as well as some opportunities for remote working.

Key Skills: 1. Strong Project Management skills ideally a member of Association of Project Managers 2. Strong Coordination skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously 3. Must have previous extensive knowledge and experience of delivering successful local and national elections 4. Good knowledge of Facilities Management including M&E and building fabric, Soft FM including portering, cleaning and security 5. Ability to think on their feet and work without supervision 6. Has a consultative approach and a problem solver 7. Good communication skills 8. Highly organised and planned approach while remaining flexible and adaptive. 9. Must own a car and have a driving license 10 Degree level education preferred but not essential. Key deliverables The specific key deliverables include: 1. Build effective relationships with the council's Building Services provider, Soft FM Services Provider, Elections Team, Property colleagues and the wider council. 2. Monitor the delivery of planned and ad-hoc tasks relating to delivery of the Elections against targets on a frequent and regular basis. 3. Visit various sites within Kingston and adjoining council's which serve as polling booths or counting stations. Prepare and deliver FM related tasks including attending site to co-ordinate the various sub-contractors 4. Be on call on key dates and undertake troubleshooting as required. Plan for all eventualities to ensure Elections service delivery is seamless 5. Liaise with various suppliers to procure Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment to support the elections 6. Own the Elections FM Project Plan and ensure all activities are planned and delivered in a timely manner. Attend regular meetings and report on progress 7. Undertake ad-hoc administrative duties and provide cover for the wider FM team as relevant This role will report to the Head of FM Operations
