Reed Accountancy & Finance is assisting our client in the recruitment of a Financial Controller for maternity cover. This individual will be an integral member of the Senior Management Team, tasked with the comprehensive management of the accounts department. The role demands ensuring the precision and punctuality of both local monthly management accounts and corporate reports, which are crucial for informed decision-making and the enhancement of internal financial controls.
Financial Controller Day to Day of the role:
- Generating monthly management accounts and group reports.
- Managing accruals, prepayments, stock, and other general ledger journals.
- Conducting reconciliations of all balances prior to closing.
- Timely submission of reports to Corporate Hyperion and local management.
- Analysing budget performance and exploring variances.
- Maintaining the integrity of Sales & Purchase Ledgers and issuing sales invoices promptly.
- Swift allocation of customer receipts to minimise overdue balances.
- Executing bank reconciliations and overseeing bank payments in line with terms.
- Developing the annual budget and regularly reviewing performance against it.
- Preparing local statutory accounts, audit packs, and tax information packs.
- Supporting the implementation and improvement of automated systems.
- Leading and nurturing staff, setting clear objectives and ensuring high performance.
Financial Controller Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Analytical prowess with the capacity to interpret data meaningfully.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective communication across all company levels.
- Commitment to meeting stringent deadlines under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Advanced Level of Excel
- Proven track record of managing personnel during system and procedural transitions.
