We are seeking an finance assistant/procurement assistant to support the business in the smooth running of the finance department and who will compliment a team of 3 other finance assistants.

The vacancy has been the result of the organisation reviewing the current structure of the finance and procurement team and is a newly structured role within the organisation. Your reporting line will be directly to the finance team lead, however you will also have an indirect reporting line into the procurement manager.

The Responsibilities
The purpose of this role is to assist the finance and procurement team in delivering an efficient and effective service within the transactional finance space as well as supporting the procurement team in the delivery of effective purchase controls.

On a day-to-day basis you can expect to be responsible for the following;
Prepare and process purchase and sales ledger invoice`s ensuring compliance with reporting and statutory requirements.
Ensuring that purchase ledger invoices and batched accurately for supplier payments within specific payment terms agreed.
Reconciliation of supplier statements to ensure any anomalies are accounted for.
Communication with suppliers in relation to resolving queries as they arise.
Control of the sales ledger process ensuring that statement of accounts, invoices and queries are actioned promptly.
Assistance with providing cover for online banking when required.
Support the company in regards to procurement processes such as purchase order management, supplier contact detail management and maintenance of procurement policies such as anti-bribery & corruption and modern day slavery.

The Requirements
We are seeking an experienced accounts assistant who has a minimum of 12 months practical experience of working in a fast paced accounting environment. In addition, we are seeking an individual who has a proactive approach and who has the drive to go the extra mile. Our client has a culture that promotes hard work and cohesion which has resulted in a team that has a settled team. From a technical perspective we are looking for an individual who is analytical and numerate and who will challenge the status quo in improving processes. Strong communication skills in both verbal and written form are critical to be successful in this role.

Our client will be expecting the successful applicant to be based in the office on a blended working model, the model that we are working with is 60% in the office and 40% working at home, however this may change and you may be expected to work more often in the office. If, however, applicants wish to work longer in the office the option is available to them.
