£35,000 per annum - subject to experience

Our client, founded in 2007, is experiencing significant growth and as such is looking for a dynamic Finance Assistant / Financial Coordinator to join their accounts team, working for an exciting renewable energy business near Guildford, Surrey.

Purpose of the Role

  • Carry out transactional accounting and financial reporting duties
  • To attend all the monthly accounts meetings with completed, checked and validated transactions in a timely manner to allow for the completion of the month-end reports.

The ideal candidate will need to be:

  • Strong data processing and attention to detail
  • Experience in Management Accounting
  • Good understanding of Double Entry
  • Experience of Xero accounting package
  • Excellent team player with a can-do attitude
  • Good knowledge of Excel
  • Good communication and reconciliation skills

In the role the key responsibilities will be:

  • Maintain full and accurate purchase and supplier ledger accounting records
  • Reconcile supplier statements resolving any discrepancies
  • Check purchase invoices of goods against delivery notes, raise and deal with any queries and ensure timely and accurate supplier payments are made
  • Manage accounting accruals and relevant reporting and reconciliations
  • Check sales invoices have been completed for the month, check quantities against value and ensure they are relevant for that month
  • Establish the prompt flow of key supplier information regarding processing/services carried out during the month and ensure prompt receipt of supplier invoices
  • Establish spreadsheets to capture accurate and validated information needed for each product
  • To be actively involved in the stocktaking process for each product each month and keep accurate records of stock levels to compile the monthly financial accounts reports
  • Have timely meetings with the relevant departments to review and understand the data, to be the gatekeeper of the information, to validate, challenge and promptly raise concerns within the accounts team
  • To attend monthly account meetings with final numbers for scrutiny and sign-off
