Job Role:

  • Teaching a small class of primary-aged pupils with special educational needs
  • Creating individualised education plans (IEPs) tailored to each pupil's specific needs and abilities
  • Implementing creative and engaging teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles
  • Using a range of specialized resources and equipment to support pupil learning and development
  • Collaborating with support staff, therapists, and parents to provide a holistic approach to education
  • Assessing pupil progress and providing regular feedback to pupils, parents, and the school's leadership team
  • Contributing to the school's inclusive and nurturing ethos, promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being
  • Participating in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in special education

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience working with pupils with special educational needs
  • Passion for inclusive education and a commitment to supporting the individual needs of each pupil
  • Strong understanding of different learning styles and strategies to support pupils with diverse needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with pupils, parents, and colleagues
  • Resilience, patience, and adaptability in responding to the unique challenges of special education
  • Knowledge of current educational practices and legislation related to special educational needs
