Quantity Surveyor - Construction Management & Consultancy

Our client, an award-winning construction firm specialising in a wide range of construction services, including commercial, residential, Health, and Retail projects. Due to constant growth of the business, they're looking to bring another Quantity Surveyor into the team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and estimating project costs from conception to completion. The Quantity Surveyor will work closely with other departments and clients to understand and review the project plans & drawings.

As the Quantity Surveyor, you will also negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors, helping procurement, finding cost-effective solutions without sacrificing quality.

Quantity Surveyor - Construction Management & Consultancy

Responsibilities:

  • Estimating Costs: Accurately predicting project costs from start to finish.
  • Managing Costs: Keeping track of expenses to stay within budget.
  • Project Coordination: Working with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to understand project details.
  • Procurement: Handling the buying process, including evaluating bids and negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Contract Management: Preparing and overseeing contracts to ensure all terms are met.
  • Cost Reporting: Providing regular financial updates to stakeholders.
  • Risk Management: Identifying and managing potential financial risks.
  • Value Engineering: Finding cost-effective solutions without sacrificing quality.
  • Legal Compliance: Ensuring the project follows all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Final Accounts: Settling final costs and managing any financial disputes.

Quantity Surveyor - Construction Management & Consultancy

Requirements:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying
  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or similar
  • Strong Quantity Surveying software knowledge
  • Strong Microsoft Office/Suite knowledge
  • Strong Blue Bean knowledge
