Stock Condition Officer/Surveyor

We are seeking a Property Surveyor to join our team, focusing on housing stock within Ealing and surrounding boroughs towards Central London. The role involves visiting and inspecting properties, collecting data, and recording the condition of the property to support the delivery of planned, cyclical, and maintenance programmes in line with our Asset Management Strategy.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Develop effective working relationships with colleagues and external agencies.
  • Support the delivery of planned, cyclical, and maintenance programmes and services.
  • Work proactively with residents and colleagues to ascertain programme priorities and service needs.
  • Play a key role in developing customer expectations and stakeholder involvement in a programme of projects.
  • Analyse customer feedback and performance data to guide programme delivery.
  • Address underperformance or service failures to meet programme targets and operational KPIs.
  • Liaise with external organisations as appropriate.
  • Manage health & safety issues related to the role, including compliance with CDM regulations, site safety, and risk management during site visits and surveys.

About you

  • Experience of carrying out stock condition surveys to occupied and void properties and communal areas.
  • Experience of carrying out decent homes assessments
  • HND/HNC Building or equivalent
  • Experience of carrying out Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) assessments
  • Experience of carrying out DDA audit reports to communal areas of residential property.
  • Experience of carrying out fire risk assessments to communal areas.
  • BOHS P402 Surveying and Sampling Strategies for Asbestos in Buildings is desirable.
  • Understanding of risk factors, including Health and Safety associated with Stock Condition Survey related work.
  • Technical or professional qualification relevant to role purpose is desirable.
  • Evidence of commitment to continuous Professional Development
  • Effective numeracy, IT team working and communication skills at all levels.
  • Hold a full driving licence and have access to own vehicle.

  • Knowledge of construction, engineering, and compliance standards.
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships.
  • Proactive approach to determining service needs and programme priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills to understand and act upon customer feedback.
  • Knowledge of legal and contractual aspects to resolve issues effectively.
  • Commitment to health & safety standards.
  • The role requires a basic DBS check.
  • Training will be provided, and the role is primarily lone working.
