Contracts and Procurement Lawyer
Venn Group's specialist legal recruitment team is currently partnering with a well-regarded Local Authority based in London, recognized for their diverse workloads and supportive team environment. They are seeking both Junior and Senior Contracts and Procurement Lawyers to join their dynamic legal department.
This is an Inside IR35 full-time role (36 hours per week) with hybrid working available, requiring office attendance once a fortnight.
Position: Junior and Senior Contracts and Procurement Lawyers
Organisation: London-based Local Authority
Duration: 6 months with possible extension
Working Pattern: Full time (36 hours per week)
Working Arrangement: Hybrid working with office attendance once a fortnight
Hourly Rate: Competitive hourly rate (DOE)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic legal advice on contracts and procurement matters to the Councils, Members, and Officers.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts and procurement documents.
- Ensure compliance with relevant procurement regulations and laws.
- Handle disputes and provide solutions to contractual issues.
Ideal Candidate:
- Must be a qualified solicitor, barrister, or legal executive with a current practising certificate.
- For Junior roles: Demonstrated interest or experience in contracts and procurement law.
- For Senior roles: Extensive experience in contracts and procurement law, preferably within Local Government.
- Strong understanding of public procurement regulations and commercial contract law.
The hourly rate is competitive, and candidates may either be provided with a council laptop or use their own.
