We are looking for a passionate and innovative Procurement Officer to join an award-winning team. As a Procurement Officer, you will ensure a proactive and consistent approach to all sourcing, tendering, and contract activity, maximising value for money, improving quality of supply, generating cost savings, and enhancing social value.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Procure a variety of commodities and services through the electronic tendering portal.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders on procurement and contracting activity.
  • Develop procurement strategies for renewing or creating new contracts/framework agreements with a sustainability focus.
  • Conduct pre-market engagement to develop strategies and raise awareness of upcoming tender opportunities.
  • Create effective ITT documents, lead evaluation sessions, negotiate with suppliers, and present outcomes clearly.
  • Maintain and manage the contract database and e-Sourcing tools.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
  • Run spend reports and monitor supplier performance.
  • Provide advice on procurement procedures and supply chain management.
  • Analyse market data to estimate and negotiate prices and costs for goods and services.
  • Advise on corporate social responsibility in dealings with suppliers and stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • CIPS qualification or willingness to work towards it.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Understanding of Public Contract Regulations and OJEU/FTS is ideal but not essential.
  • Experience with Call-off Frameworks such as CCS is preferred but not essential.
  • Methodical work approach with strong analytical and Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to identify anomalies in reports, evaluations, and financial data.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Organised, accurate, detail-oriented, independent, and a reliable team player.
