My client is a distributor of products and logistical services to manufacturing businesses around the globe. This company has been established for many years and continues to grow in staff numbers (180 worldwide in 8 countries) and has a sales turnover of over £200million with plans to grow this to £800million over the next 5 years.
We are now recruiting for an Export and Compliance Controller to join the team.
The company is at the forefront of quality and service-driven component distribution, setting the standards now and anticipating future trends to ensure services are aligned to customers' business.
They serve the world's leading OEM and EMS companies with global product sourcing and traceability, electronic product design, logistics & supply-chain management as well as in-house anti-counterfeit testing and product obsolescence management.
So, this role will be meaty, it's not just about the admin. This person needs to be strong, confident and experienced as they will be dealing daily with demanding salespeople.
Responsibilities:
- Compliance with current national and international legislations and regulations on export controls, HMRC policies, BIS export controls and licencing requirements.
- Manage classification of products / orders and apply for licencing as applicable.
- Support all export shipping activities including documentation and licencing as applicable.
- Continuous monitoring and improvement of processes and internal work instructions to ensure compliance.
- Undertaking continuous internal compliance checks to ensure all sales activity falls within the scope of the applicable legislation.
- Supporting compliance visits as well as both internal and external audits.
Customs/Logistics:
- Oversee all import/customs entries, providing clearance instructions to forwarders and maintaining internal customs records.
- Arranging collections/deliveries where required, including imports and exports.
- Managing shipments to ensure timely delivery to customers.
Knowledge & Experience:
- Knowledge and experience of managing UK, EU and US export control regulations.
- Experience / knowledge of EUU's for customers and suppliers.
- Ability to manage time, priorities and must be able to work to and achieve goals as required by the business.
- Ability to take initiative and work autonomously, as well as in a team
- Strong It Skills, Microsoft office especially excel

- Salary £38,000 - £40,000.
