Job Type: Full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract.

We are seeking a dedicated Functional Skills Maths Tutor with a passion for making a difference through education. This role is an exceptional opportunity to work within offender learning, helping to improve the lives of others and their communities. As a Maths Tutor, you will deliver high-quality, engaging education to inspire and motivate learners to achieve their goals and aspirations.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Deliver accredited and non-accredited Functional Skills Maths programmes tailored to the needs and interests of learners.
  • Develop and implement personalised learning plans that equip learners with essential skills, knowledge, and behaviours for progression.
  • Utilise a variety of teaching methods to provide a stimulating learning environment.
  • Assess and evaluate learner progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Maintain accurate records of learner achievements and progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Level 2 Maths and English qualifications (equivalent to GCSE grades 9 to 4 or A* to C).
  • A teaching qualification or subject specialist qualification at Level 4 (Level 5 – new standards), with a commitment to obtain the relevant outstanding qualification within a specified timescale.
  • Qualification in the specialist subject area of Functional Skills Maths.
  • Proven track record of effective teaching in the subject specialism.
  • A clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
