We are partnered with a rapidly expanding and acquisitive Wealth Management firm in their search for a Training & Competency Manager. As Training & Competency Manager you will be responsible for ensuring adherence to both the FCA's and internal Training and Competence (T&C) regime, which requires firms to be able to demonstrate that relevant staff have the right qualities and competencies to carry out their responsibilities appropriately.
Own, manage and drive the plan for delivering training and competency for new starters aligned to company, industry and regulatory standards. ensuring that employees are safe and competent in their roles.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversight of the T&C function for the business
- Keep up to date with regulatory developments and maintain CPD records to evidence this.
- Advise senior management in a timely manner of Regulatory issues or any regulatory changes.
- Produce an annual T&C report for senior management.
- Ensure that the firm can respond in a timely basis to requests for information from the Regulator.
- Comply at all times with the Compliance and Training and Competence procedures of the firm.
- Comply at all times with regulatory requirements.
Skills and Experience:
- The Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning Dip PFS is essential as you will be responsible for the oversight of regulated individuals. J07 (supervision in a regulated environment) or the equivalent would be advantageous.
- Significant prior experience in a training and competency role, specifically with Financial Advisers.
- Experience of constructing financial planning advice would be advantageous
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining positive relationships with your team and key stakeholders.
- Detailed knowledge of the Regulator's rules, for the role that that is undertaken
