Are you looking to empower young minds and make a difference to the lives of SEN students?

A Specialist School located in Tilehurst are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join them in a long-term position starting in September 2024.

The students in this school struggle with a range of additional needs. These include Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome and learning difficulties.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, your main duties will involve working directly with SEN students in the classroom. You will be supported by the class teacher while you provide support to the students either on a 1:1 basis or in a group setting. You will also be involved in helping manage behaviour, track student progress and academic success. You will be an integral part of helping these students build on and improve their life skills as well as provide emotional and social support. Most importantly you will ensure that school is a safe, comforting and fun place.

The ideal candidate will have some sort of experience working with children or adults who suffer from special educational needs. However personality in this case is most important. Someone who is resilient, caring and patient is essential.
