About the school:

We are currently working on behalf of an outstanding Special Educational Needs school situated in Devizes. Utilising its beautiful location, the school boasts incredible facilities in order to support pupils in reaching both their academic and personal goals. The school also possesses a one of a kind learning environment, the pupils benefit from small class groups, focused provision, a range of therapies and specialist teaching and support staff.

About the role:

Successful candidates will be interviewed internally by the school, with permanent contracts being offered. You will be responsible for pupils within the primary age phase with complex autism and severe learning difficulties. The class follows a semi-formal curriculum, incorporating social communication and emotional regulation strategies, and is supported by an experienced team of Teaching Assistants.

You will need to be a willing and inquisitive learner yourself and have the ability to work as a team with your own class and within the School community. Some of the responsibilities of the role include;

  • Organise and manage a classroom
  • Working 1-1 with pupils who require additional support
  • Creating a well structured and positive environment
  • Teaching students with SEND/SEMH in specialist classes or groups
  • Building relationships with the pupils, the parents and the faculty
  • Be a positive and proactive member of the staff
