Building Compliance Lead

You will be engaging with customers to understand and meet their hopes and wishes. The property Compliance team are dedicated to providing top-notch, customer-focused asset management services. Ensuring their homes not only meet but exceed all property health, safety, and compliance standards, safeguarding our customers and enhancing their reputation as a landlord.

Internally, you will lead, coach, and support a team, conduct regular performance reviews, and maintain open communication with the management and executive team. Externally, provide clear, open, and timely information about service appointments and related works to customers. Maintain excellent standards of customer service and ensure compliance with performance standards when liaising with contractors and consultants. Collaborate with Local Authorities, regulators, Fire and Rescue Service, and other Registered Providers.

Key responsibilities of the Building Compliance Manager:

  • Acting in accordance with policies and procedures, managing orders, data entry, and remedial work. Oversee compliance performance reporting for the Asset Directorate, Executive team, and Board.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and implement necessary changes.
  • Liaise with contractors to maintain service standards and review processes for legal compliance. Log, action, and record property compliance data to meet health and safety requirements.
  • Work with Housing Services and Development teams to meet required standards.
  • Resolve access issues and manage appointment scheduling and legal processes.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Commit to high-quality, cost-effective customer service.
  • Represent us positively to internal and external audiences.
  • Engage in learning and development activities to enhance personal and team performance.
  • Adapt to organizational changes and provide support as needed.

Experience required of the Building Compliance Manager:

  • Understanding and knowledge of relevant compliance and health and safety legislation and the application of appropriate policies and procedures to support compliance.
  • Experience of working at senior level, leading and managing a team.
  • Experience of building effective partnerships and links with a range of external organisations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of legislation, policy and regulatory frameworks applicable to landlord statutory compliance.

This role is working Monday to Friday 8:30am - 5pm and offers hybrid working of 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
