Mental Health Support Worker evenings

Established for over 30 years, they have provided services alongside a variety of statutory and voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) colleagues in Surrey and its boarders. Support Workers

to work within their Safe Havens site in Woking and Guildford

Salary

: £15.90ph

Hours:

5 hour shifts (6pm - 11pm) Monday to Sunday (Ideally looking for 2 or 3 shifts per week, will include weekend work)

This is a great opportunity to be part of a fantastic support centre. The Safe Haven provides an alternative for people who are currently attending A&E when they suffer a mental health crisis, both in person and virtually. Additionally is provides a safety net for people who might otherwise get to crisis point.

As part of a team you will support those visiting and risk assess those in mental health crisis. Utilise motivational interviewing techniques and active listening skills in order to support individuals and create safety plans for those experiencing suicidal ideation. You will also provide a continual assessment of a persons needs regarding their mental health and work collaboratively with partner agency staff to ensure continuity of care.

This post is subject to a DBS check. Please note past drug and/or alcohol or criminality history will not necessarily discount you from undertaking this role

Our ideal applicant will have/be;

  • Experience working within the mental health field
  • Knowledge of safeguarding legislation
  • Experience delivering person centred interventions relating to mental health
  • Confidence to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Robust professional boundaries
