We are seeking a SEND Standards Quality Officer to work closely with the Assistant Director for ALS and the Senior Leadership Team. The role is focused on developing and implementing strategies to ensure high-quality provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring staff compliance with SEND systems and procedures and supporting the colleges to meet SEND regulatory body requirements.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Liaise with key College staff and external bodies to ensure that College SEND quality systems meet external regulations.
  • Communicate SEND requirements to all appropriate staff and manage internal team compliance.
  • Produce compliance reports for management, including SEND provision reports, IEP completion reports, and performance review reports.
  • Keep abreast of changes to SEND legislation and guidance and inform key staff about SEND regulations and requirements.
  • Monitor adherence to SEND regulations and requirements, including IEP approvals.
  • Develop and monitor early warning systems for suspected non-compliance with SEND requirements.
  • Liaise with external agencies and confirm the allocation of support services.
  • Attend external or internal support meetings as appropriate and prepare documentation for Ofsted visits.
  • Develop and maintain the SEND intranet pages and review college policies related to SEND provision.
  • Induct new staff on SEND systems and requirements and assist with training for staff in areas relevant to this post.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of SEND legislation and guidance.
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and liaison skills to work effectively with staff, students, and external agencies.
  • Ability to produce detailed reports and monitor compliance with SEND regulations.
  • Proficiency in using educational software and systems, such as Pro Monitor and EBS.
  • Organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
