History teacher for KS3/KS4

We are in search of an enthusiastic and knowledgeable History Teacher to instruct KS3 and KS4 students. The daily pay rate for this position varies between £155 and £230, depending on your expertise, qualifications, and teaching proficiency.

The ideal candidate will be responsible to create a stimulating learning environment, assess student progress, and provide constructive feedback to support their academic growth. You will also deliver engaging and thought-provoking history lessons that inspire a love for the subject and promote critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to subject development by producing, reviewing and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work
  • Strong knowledge of the curriculum
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Teach classes allocated and provide a well planned challenging, purposeful learning environment
  • Develop approach to self - directed learning, use technology to support learning
  • Use assessment data to inform lesson planning
  • Set homework and mark promptly
  • Ensure a high quality of teaching and learning takes place
  • Deal with immediate problems/emergencies according to school policy and procedures
  • Respond to questioning

  • Strong classroom management

Personal attributes:

  • You will have a genuine passion for teaching
  • Experience up to key stage 3/4
  • QTS/PGCE equivalent
  • Be flexible and committed
