Salary: £90,000 - £95,000 + Bonus + Car
Job Purpose:
Full responsibility for all manufacturing operations over 3 sites, ensuring that all products are manufactured and delivered in accordance with customer requirements, and ensuring the objectives of the business are met efficiently and effectively.
As part of the Senior Leadership Team, to support the Managing Director and other areas of the business as required, and contribute to the overall management of the business, including development of annual budgets and strategy, and the implementation of the Vision Framework.
To support the Senior Leadership Team and Health & Safety Manager, in promoting a positive and pro-active Health & Safety culture, and to support the divisional goal of zero accidents.
The Management and Development of the Operational Staff at all manufacturing locations.
Principal Accountabilities
- To drive the company on a journey to Operational Excellence through the application of various tools and techniques, and effective policy deployment, and the use of meaningful KPI's that deliver the required behaviours and actions.
- To eliminate unnecessary cost and waste through continuous improvement and process automation.
- To use and develop the global manufacturing locations in the most efficient way to best meet the needs of the customers and the internal business expectations
- To support the local Operations and Production Management in their day to day responsibilities and duties, and to provide regular feedback on their performance, and to provide training and guidance as required.
- To develop and implement all necessary policies and procedures to ensure that the Operational functions within the business consistently achieve or exceed their agreed objectives.
- To direct and control the global Manufacturing processes to ensure that finished goods are consistently produced to the required standards and are delivered to customers in accordance with their requirements.
- To maintain an effective working relationship with the Managing Director and other members of the Senior Leadership Team, to ensure there is efficient co-ordination and communication between differing business functions and the corporate objectives of the business are met.
- To act as the company's main advisor on all issues relating to Operational functions and keeping abreast of latest developments in manufacturing technology, to ensure that the company maintains a competitive position in the market.
- To ensure that product costs and gross margins are managed in line with budget expectations, and strive to improve and exceed expectations.
- To provide monthly reports on the overall performance of the global Manufacturing operations.
Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge
Educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering discipline. Demonstrate exceptional knowledge in mechanical engineering and manufacturing know-how.
Skills & Experience:
- Global experience of manufacturing processes including off shore operations, relocating operations, and implementing process automation.
- Able to demonstrate evidence of breaking the mould: moving organisations into new areas of process development and innovation.
- Working within organisations where continuous improvement, operational excellence and innovation is a core competence/culture.
- Must have experience of innovative or best in class manufacturing processes.
- Experience of working with cross-functional project teams.
- Commercially and financially aware.
