About Us:

At Engage Education we provide a nurturing and supportive environment for secondary students with SEMH needs. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to ensure each student receives the tailored support they need to succeed academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality art lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of students with SEMH.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
  • Utilize de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviour and maintain a safe learning environment.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes creativity, academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and other specialists to provide comprehensive support.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Engage with parents and caregivers to provide regular updates on student progress and promote a collaborative approach to education.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs.
  • Proficiency in de-escalation techniques and behaviour management.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of SEMH best practices and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to the welfare and development of each student.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
