Finance Business Partner - House of Commons

We have partnered with the prestigious House of Commons in their search for a new Finance Business Partner to join their dynamic Finance, Portfolio and Performance (FPP) team on a permanent basis. The House of Commons, as the heart of UK democracy, plays a crucial role in shaping the nation's laws and scrutinising government actions. Supporting this essential function is the House of Commons Administration, a team of over 3,000 employees dedicated to delivering exceptional services to Parliament. Within this team, the FPP department stands out for its critical role in implementing the House of Commons' Strategy and corporate priorities. The FPP team ensures that the House operates efficiently through business and financial planning, performance analysis, and the support of various projects and programmes.

We are seeking a Finance Business Partner to join this vibrant team. This role is pivotal in building and maintaining strong relationships within the House, ensuring that financial management and public value are central to decision-making processes. As a Finance Business Partner, you will engage in strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting, while providing insightful analysis of financial data. You will be responsible for facilitating long-term planning, challenging investment appraisals, and supporting commercial activities to help the business address complex financial queries. Your work will also involve collaborating closely with the central financial management team and project management units, ensuring that the financial interests of the House are well represented and effectively managed.

In addition to these responsibilities, the successful candidate will contribute to implementing recommendations from a recent independent review of the House's financial management practices. This role offers the opportunity to influence the future direction of financial management within the House of Commons, ensuring robust processes and controls are in place.

Candidates must be CCAB or CIMA qualified, or part-qualified (including AAT Level 4) and possess strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to various stakeholders. Experience in fostering collaboration, driving organisational goals and knowledge sharing is essential. This role requires someone who can tailor their communication style to different audiences, enabling business managers to make informed and effective decisions.
