Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a SEND school in Preston where all children have an Education Health and Care Plan. This is a long term, temporary-to-permanent role to start in September 2024, with a daily rate ranging from £85-£95, dependant upon experience.

As an SEND Teaching Assistant in this school, you will play a crucial role in supporting and enriching the learning experiences of all pupils. You will work closely with teachers, providing one-on-one assistance and small group support.

As part of this SEND Teaching Assistant role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the implementation of individual education plans
  • Supporting pupils with their learning and personal care needs
  • Promoting independence and inclusion within the school community
  • Collaborating with the teaching team to create engaging and inclusive lessons
  • Monitoring and recording pupil progress

The school was rated 'Good' by OFSTED in February 2023. Pupils within the school are aged 4-16 with Special Educational Needs, and these include MLD, SLD, ASD, sensory impairments, and physical disabilities.

To join us and be successful in this SEND Teaching Assistant role you will need to:

  • Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs
  • Strong understanding of the individual needs associated with MLD, SLD, ASD, sensory impairments, and physical disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's development.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Teaching Assistant qualification, CACHE Level 3, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
  • CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible.
  • Legal right to work in the UK.
