Finance Manager

Robert Half are pleased to partner with an established Cambridge based business to add a new Finance Manager into the team. The Finance Manager will head up accounts team and be responsible for the EU/ APAC regions. Working closely with the Group FC and Finance Director this is an ideal role for an established accountant with team management experience to work as a part of a fast paced growing business. The business operate a hybrid working pattern with 2 days a week in the Cambridge office.

Key responsibilities

  • Ownership of accounts receivable function for Europe and APAC, working with the team with frequent reviews of aged debtors, accrued revenue and backlog. Ensuring invoicing is completed timely, and monitoring this against KPIs. Working with group finance on periodic doubtful debt review, and escalating any issues.
  • Oversight of the purchase to pay to pay process in Europe and APAC, ensuring regular review of the purchase ledger with the team so accounts are reconciled, and with responsibility in making sure suppliers are paid in the agreed payment terms, including payment of employee expenses.
  • Review and co-ordination of month end close for Europe & APAC, including analysis of P&L, balance sheet, and ensuring all action points are carried out by the team.
  • Responsibility for submission of bi-weekly cash flow forecasts by the Europe and APAC teams to group, monitoring accuracy of these forecasts to improve reporting.
  • Managing the Europe finance team, working closely with the team on a day-to-day basis and setting and monitoring the team's objectives, with regular reviews against these.
  • Overall responsibility for local audits, ensuring compliance with relevant deadlines, managing timeframes and review of information provided by the team. In addition, working with the group finance team on external auditor process for the relevant Europe & APAC entity information.
  • Assisting with tax compliance for Europe & APAC, adhering to deadlines for all year-end and other adhoc returns, managing timeframes and review of information provided by the team to the external advisors.
  • Ensuring compliance with the group revenue recognition policies and providing assistance if required on contracts.

Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant (2-5 years PQE) with a recognised accounting body (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, competent using MS Word, PowerPoint
  • Experience of using a complex ERP system
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly
  • Ability to build positive working relationships
