We are seeking a dedicated Finance Officer to join our finance team and provide efficient and effective financial support in line with our Academy's core financial responsibilities. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day processes accurately and timely, supporting the Senior Finance Officer and adapting tasks to meet the department's needs.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Provide high-quality financial administrative support under the direction of the Head of Finance.
  • Maintain confidentiality and prevent disclosure of sensitive information.
  • Input information into financial systems, process purchase orders, and monitor goods received notes.
  • Handle financial post, process invoices, and deal with queries from suppliers and customers professionally.
  • Prepare payment lists for BACS processing and send out remittance advice and sales receipts.
  • Assist with banking, record monthly catering income and hospitality expenditure, and process staff expense payments.
  • Maintain detailed records of non-invoiced income and expenditure and perform monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Raise sales invoices, review the Debtors ledger, and chase outstanding debts.
  • Support financial management of trips and events, including using Parent Pay and IRIS Financials.
  • Record school fund income and maintain the Gift Aid register.
  • Assist with HR/Payroll related administration as requested.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in financial administration within an educational setting is desirable.
  • Proficiency in using financial systems such as IRIS Financials, Parent Pay, and Arbor.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines.
  • Good communication skills and a professional manner.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to undertake training and participate in professional development.
