We are looking for a dedicated Chef to join our team and provide a high standard dining experience in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for delivering appetising, nutritious meals and excellent customer service, ensuring that our catering provision aligns with our standards and safety procedures.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Oversee food preparation and service, ensuring compliance with health and safety, allergen safety, food safety, and organisational standards.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen and dining areas.
  • Conduct regular checks and audits, adhering to HACCP and other regulatory issues.
  • Prepare for and assist with internal and external audits/inspections.
  • Ensure all food allergen policies and procedures are followed.
  • Focus on providing quality meals and service for all customers, including those with specific dietary and allergen requirements.
  • Oversee dining from preparation to service and clean down, ensuring consistency and high standards.
  • Conduct staff briefings to inform about ingredients, portion sizes, allergens, and dietary requests.
  • Liaise with the serving team to monitor food quality and availability during meal service.
  • Manage and train the catering team to provide excellent service and maintain operational standards.
  • Control stock and manage financial aspects to ensure value for money and effective cost control.
  • Maintain catering facilities and resources, ensuring a healthy and safe working environment.
  • Participate in the overall management of the catering department and assist with centre-specific duties as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Chef in a similar environment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including HACCP.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and train a team.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing demands and a fast-paced work environment.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality food and customer service.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and teams.
