Housing Standards Officer (Private Sector/Temporary Accommodation)
12 Weeks with the possibility of extension
Hourly rate: Negotiable depending on experience
Stratford upon Avon, Warwickshire - Hybrid, 3 days in the office
Sellick Partnership Ltd are currently recruiting for a Private Sector Housing Enforcement Officer to join one of our Public Sector clients on a temporary ongoing contract.
Daily duties of the Housing Standards Officer consists of:
- Improving Housing Standards within the private sector properties and temporary housing stock
- Reducing the negative impact on Health caused by poor Housing conditions
- Addressing non compliance
- Promoting awareness of home energy conversations with the public
- Responding to service requests in regard to disrepair and poor housing conditions within the private rented properties
- Serving legal notices and preparing schedule of works when necessary
- Conducting inspections and identifying the nature and cause of defects and to recommend appropriate remedial measures.
- Preparing documentation to support legal proceedings and to attend court and give evidence when required
Essential requirements of the Housing Standards Officer:
- Experienced in Housing Standards/Enforcement
- Previously prepared statutory notices and schedules of work
- Strong IT skills (Use of Redress is preferred)
- Knowledge of the Housing Act and associated legislation
- Possesses full UK drivers license
- Ability to work hybrid, visiting the office for initial training
