We are looking for an IT Support Technician to provide hands-on technical support for our corporate and customer-managed IT infrastructure and projects. The role involves working as part of the IT team to deliver a quality 24/7 service to internal users, both at HQ and remotely, as well as to nominated customer gateways, servers, and laptops. This position requires installing, configuring, and troubleshooting computer hardware, operating systems, software, and applications.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Build and configure laptops and PCs to internal and customer specifications, ensuring compliance with IT security policies.
  • Manage the desktop environment, including monitoring performance and patching.
  • Support onsite A/V equipment, including video conferencing and projectors.
  • Follow departmental change control processes and work within cyber security policies.
  • Assist with the administration of customer IT equipment and networks.
  • Provide fault-finding and problem-solving support, owning issues until resolved.
  • Work with external suppliers for problem resolution when in-house support is not possible.
  • Participate in the 24/7 on-call IT rota for corporate network and customer network emergencies.
  • Support the IT Hosting Infrastructure, including storage, virtual environments, email, and backups.
  • Support the IT Security Infrastructure, including antivirus, update/patch management, and web filtering.
  • Support telephony equipment and servers, including telephone installation.
  • Support the remote working environment, including VPNs and RDP.
  • Maintain and audit the user assets inventory and software licenses.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • HND/Degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or at least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Broad technical skills with diverse IT hardware and business applications.
  • Technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10/11 desktop environments and Windows Server 2019/2022.
  • Understanding of IT Security (anti-virus, hard drive encryption, authentication).
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange and Email services.
  • Previous experience in 1st/2nd line support roles.
  • Ability to achieve Security Clearance (SC/DV).
  • Knowledge of Windows Group Policies and Active Directory (desirable).
  • Experience with Endpoint Central, McAfee/Trellix Security, WebMarshal, Veeam (desirable).
  • Knowledge of Virtual Environments (VMware) and Mitel phone system (desirable).
  • Relevant Microsoft qualifications (desirable).
  • Experience with Blackberry UEM and mobile device management (MDM) (desirable).
