We are seeking an Experienced Litigator to join a great client of ours. This role involves proactively managing a portfolio of cases, including liability disputes, repair, credit hire, and small claims cases through to settlement or final hearing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation within the insurance industry and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage a mixed caseload including liability disputes, repair, credit hire, and small claims cases.
  • Ensure effective management of the litigation process to meet SLA's.
  • Work a task list effectively, prioritising tasks as needed.
  • Negotiate quantum and assess liability.
  • Draft court documents and manage all court deadlines.
  • Liaise with clients regarding uninsured losses and obtain relevant case information competently.
  • Take and draft comprehensive statements.
  • Book and instruct Counsel to attend trials.
  • Allocate settlement funds appropriately.
  • Undertake file reviews, provide supervision, and sign off on court documents for junior members of the team.
  • Deliver high-quality work consistently.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Case Handler/File Handler within the insurance industry.
  • Highly motivated with a passion for overcoming challenges.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively both over the phone and in writing.
  • Experience in liaising with clients, insurers, brokers, the court, solicitors, and barristers.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Proficient in drafting and managing legal documents.
