Our client is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Accounts Assistant to join their team. Based in the beautiful location of Leamington Spa, you will be responsible for managing fixed assets, assisting with monthly margin analysis, conducting balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis, and much more. What you'll do:

As an Accounts Assistant, your role will be integral to the smooth running of the finance department. You will manage fixed assets and inter-company accounting processes, providing crucial support to the wider team. Your ability to assist with monthly margin analysis will be key in providing commercial interpretation of financial data. You will conduct balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis, ensuring accuracy at all times. Your role will also involve supporting the improvement of processes and systems, contributing to efficiency within the department. Assisting both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, you will demonstrate your versatility within this role.

  • Manage fixed assets and inter-company accounting processes.
  • Assist with monthly margin analysis and provide commercial interpretation of the numbers.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Support the improvement of processes and systems.
  • Assist Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
  • Produce journals for prepayments and accruals.
  • Regularly assist with month-end accounts production.
  • Prepare management accounts.
  • Assist with audits and perform general office duties.
  • Update exchange rates in the ERP system.
  • Maintain the Fixed Assets Register.
  • Raise cheques and approve bank payments as required.
  • Manage the company's cash flow.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Accounts Assistant role will bring a strong understanding of accounting principles, coupled with experience in managing fixed assets and inter-company accounting processes. Your ability to assist with monthly margin analysis and provide commercial interpretation of financial data will be key to your success in this role. You will have proven experience in conducting balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis, demonstrating your attention to detail and accuracy. Your track record in supporting process improvement within a finance function will be highly valued, as will your experience in assisting both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions. Your ability to produce journals for prepayments and accruals, assist with month-end accounts production, prepare management accounts, assist with audits, perform general office duties, update exchange rates in an ERP system, maintain a Fixed Assets Register, raise cheques, approve bank payments as required, and manage company cash flow will make you a strong fit for this role.
