PRU Teacher
Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting for a full time teacher at a Pupil Referral Unit in Hull, starting 2nd September 2024 and lasting until at least October half term 2024, but likely Christmas (with the potential to extend). This is to cover a period of sickness absence, so the exact length of the vacancy is difficult to state. This is a temporary position. Payment for this position will be between £130 and £223.62 per day depending on experience and qualifications. There may be potential for a job share, so part time applicants are encouraged to apply.
This role will involve teaching many different subjects throughout the day, to students who require innovative and engaging lessons to ensure that they are inspired and making progress. Most of this work will be provided for you, but you may need to plan lessons in your specialist area. You will have at least one extremely strong learning support assistant with you in the lessons, who know the students extremely well and have a great rapport with them. You will be responsible for ensuring that safeguarding policies are adhered to and passed onto the designated safeguarding lead.
This school is located in Hull and has an onsite car park for those candidates that do drive. It is available via public transport for candidates without access to a car. It is part of a small academy trust and the shared resources on site are fantastic, meaning planning for this position will be minimal. ECTs are encouraged to apply for this role if they have relevant experience working with disengaged students or students that require behavioural support.
Tradewind will also support your development during your placement and beyond through our fantastic CPD via The National College. You will be put onto all of the same CPD as permanent staff members, and encouraged to grow.

- Hold a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
- Have experience working within schools in the UK.
- Has experience teaching in Pupil Referral Units (desirable)
- Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks

- Legal right to work in the UK
