Full time (35 hrs/wk), permanent

Based Horizons (Reading, Berkshire) with up to 2 days per week working from home

Salary up to £50,000 pa plus benefits

This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented Management Accountant to join UCEM's busy and fast-paced Finance Department. As Lead Management Accountant, you will manage month end, audit, budgeting, forecast, statutory accounts preparation and internal business partnering relationships, whilst ensuring the completeness and accuracy of accounting records and financial reporting. You will line-manage two Finance Analysts and an Assistant Accountant whilst supporting their ACCA studies.

Your accountabilities and responsibilities include:

  • Approval of month end journals including accruals, prepayments and payroll
  • Balance sheet reconciliation
  • Manage the production of the monthly management accounts
  • Investigate transactional issues in relevant systems
  • Provide support when required to members of the wider finance team

Our main requirements:

  • GCSE Maths and English Language Grade C or 4 or above
  • ACCA/CIMA Qualified
  • Strong understanding of Excel e.g. Pivot tables, Lookups
  • Knowledge of using accounting systems
  • Ability to operate effectively as a member of a busy team and be a team player
