Graduate Trainee Accountant

A highly successful accountancy practice is recruiting for a Graduate Trainee Accountant to join the team at the firm's Godalming office and embark upon a three-year training contract studying for the ACA qualification.

Please note that because this is a three-year training contract, and the firm is unable to offer visa sponsorship, applications from international graduates, with a two-year graduate visa, cannot be considered for this role.

This firm will offer a good starting salary, depending upon education level and/or experience, with annual salary reviews, a full ICAEW study package, an excellent benefits package and a friendly, professional working environment.

The successful candidate will ideally be a graduate with a minimum 2:1 degree, however, the firm would consider people outside of this at the lower end of the salary range. Applications from those with some previous experience within an accountancy role would be especially welcome.

You will learn and carry out audit and accounts work for a range of clients, working in the office and at clients' premises.

As Graduate Trainee Accountant your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting team with audit and accounts work
  • Carrying out accounting processes and controls to ensure the accurate production of information and document work performed to ensure appropriate audit trails are maintained
  • Providing guidance and ensuring appropriate accounting practices are adopted in the production of financial information
  • Preparation of statutory financial statements for limited companies
  • Preparation of partnerships and sole traders accounts
  • Maintaining and developing client relationships, both written communication and conducting face-to-face meetings
