Data Protection Compliance Officer
- Salary: £40,000-£44,000 plus bonuses and benefits

- Job Type: Full-time - Hybrid after probation (3 days a week in office, 2 days remote).
A new exciting and important position has become available for a Data Protection Compliance Officer to join an exciting progressive compliant team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the organisation operates in full compliance with legal regulations and government guidelines. Day-to-day of the role:
- Raise data protection awareness across the business.
- Deliver, design, and coordinate focused data protection awareness training.
- Manage data incidents, including containment, severity analysis, and reporting.
- Prepare targeted data protection communication to Data Champions.
- Compile data protection impact assessments and data sharing agreements.
- Liaise with teams for Data Protection due diligence on new third-party suppliers.
- Monitor and maintain records of ‘All Staff Data Protection Awareness Training'.
- Report data protection risks and actions as directed.
- Conduct data protection monitoring and reviews in academies.
- Maintain data protection compliance records.
- Provide advice and guidance on data protection related enquiries.
- Coordinate the review and quality assurance of business policies and key documents.
- Coordinate comprehensive general compliance training.
- Support the management of business risk and compliance documentation.
- Provide advice and guidance on general compliance enquiries.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Ideally, qualifications to degree level, but will consider non-graduates with commensurate experience or qualifications.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications.
- Working knowledge of the UK General Data Protection Regulation and its practical implementation.
- Previous experience in an education, healthcare or local government management, compliance and/or data protection role.
- Project management experience.
- Experience of working in a professional and high-paced environment.
- Proven and well-developed interpersonal skills, including good communication both written and spoken.
- Good administrative skills with an excellent eye for detail, including proofreading skills, with the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
- Professional working ethic and a commitment to high standards.
- Ability to ensure that confidentiality is maintained at all times.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Ability to work as part of a team building and maintain good working relationships with colleagues.
