This is a fixed term role until the 31st July 2025.

The Role

They are looking for an experienced, passionate and creative Marketing and Communications Officer to work with Hello Future, the Uni Connect partnership for Cumbria. You will have an interest in working with young people and supporting their future higher education decisions.

Using your marketing and data analysis expertise, you will support the partnership by increasing Hello Future's visibility and opportunities to engage with learners and their influencers. Working with the wider team and using data findings to provide insights, you will provide suggestions within reports and presentations, create exciting marketing content and increase leads/conversion of those taking part in outreach activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the wider team to plan and execute targeted campaigns and marketing plans involving multiple content items, touchpoints and audience groups, monitoring and optimising campaign performance and evaluating results and use to inform future strategies.
  • Ensure the implementation of brand and visual identity across all channels and advise on best practice to support others across the partnership to create images, case studies, social posts and video to maximise engagement, reach and profile.
  • Create compelling, SEO optimised content in various formats for distribution across multiple platforms working with the wider team and externals as necessary to increase connection with and conversion of target audiences.
  • Utilise data collected from a variety of sources to seek out new ways of engaging with different underrepresented and target groups, tailoring content to their needs and encouraging them to take part in programme activities.
  • Maintain data systems and processes for successful collection and analysis, reporting and tracking across all methods of data collection, ensuring legislative requirements are adhered to (e.g. GDPR). Including maintain systems for the inputting and cleaning of data, importing and exporting for tracking and reporting purposes utilising the Higher Education Access Tracker (HEAT) and Wordpress.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Educated to QCF Level 3 (A Level, Scottish Higher or equivalent) or equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development in marketing technology and techniques, and use of this information to develop stronger, more relevant and more effective communications.
  • Degree level qualification (or equivalent experience) in Marketing, Communications or related subjects
  • Experience of marketing communications, campaign and content planning and delivery, engaging audiences effectively across various channels and reporting on effectiveness of activity, making recommendations for improvement.
  • Experience of working with brand guidelines and strategy contributing to the evolution of the brand.
