Procurement Coordinator

  • Annual Salary: £28,500
  • Location: Wallingford
  • Job Type: Temporary to Permanent (37.5 hours per week)

We are seeking a dedicated Procurement Coordinator to join our client based in Wallingford. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in achieving service level targets, maintaining stock levels within budget, and ensuring the efficient placement and progression of purchase orders. This role offers the opportunity to support the Procurement Manager and play a key role in the success of procurement processes.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Review and manage daily procurement tasks, including the purchase of materials and responding to requests from various departments.
  • Prepare and submit purchase orders for stocked and non-stocked goods and services.
  • Collaborate with logistics to ensure delivery schedules are met and monitor delivery of goods and services against KPIs.
  • Establish and maintain accurate procurement records and files.
  • Resolve issues or discrepancies with suppliers and escalate as needed for resolution.
  • Create articles for new products and maintain accurate Master Data within SAP systems.
  • Adjust replenishment order points and administer price updates in SAP.
  • Respond to availability enquiries from internal sales departments.
  • Liaise with internal departments globally and review KPI Supplier Evaluation reports to improve supplier performance.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement process.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Clear and concise communication skills for interaction with internal and external colleagues in a global network.
  • Computer literacy, ideally with intermediate Excel skills.
  • Experience in demand planning is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently with clear direction.
  • Agile mindset with a willingness to adapt and learn in the role.
  • 2 years of experience in an office administration role, ideally within stock planning or purchasing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence in managing large volumes of data with accuracy.
  • A desire to learn and grow within the role.
  • Knowledge of the company's products is beneficial but not essential.
  • Previous experience working within procurement would be advantageous
  • CIPS qualification would be beneficial but not essential
