We are looking for a primary-trained teacher who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people and is willing to bring their unique skills and experiences to our secondary SEMH setting.

Job Description:

As a Primary School Teacher at our SEMH secondary school, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality education and support to our students. Your primary training will be invaluable in creating engaging and accessible lessons that meet the diverse needs of our students. You will work closely with our dedicated team to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver creative and effective lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with SEMH.
  • Provide a nurturing and supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and achievement.
  • Implement and adapt the curriculum to suit the educational needs of students across a range of abilities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, including SENCo, teaching assistants, and therapists, to develop and implement individualised learning plans.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and reports to parents and senior staff.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively, using positive behaviour management strategies.
  • Support students in developing social skills, emotional resilience, and positive attitudes towards learning.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with primary training is accpeted.
  • Experience working with children, preferably with SEMH or special educational needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting students with SEMH.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the school.
