UK Financial Controller

About the business:

Our client is the UK arm of a leading international organisation providing specialist products and services to the UK market. This is an exciting, challenging opportunity to help grow and develop the UK organisation with the added benefits of being part of a dynamic international Group.

You will be responsible for the 3 UK entities, providing key support for local Executive teams whilst ensuring accurate consolidated reporting for Group level requirements. Your role will involve close cooperation with the Financial Shared Service Centre, stakeholders, senior management, audit teams, finance partners and the European Group Finance team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Report and continuously develop a suite of financial KPI's (profitability, Opex, Capex, working capital, cash flow, etc.) in support of commercial operations
  • Provide concise and insightful analysis of financial data to local and group leadership
  • Responsible for the monthly closing process in line with IFRS and local GAAP
  • Prepare and file local annual accounts, providing the point of contact for internal and external audit, ensuring compliance with internal and external guidelines
  • Reconciliation of transactional data and management reporting with full balance sheet analysis
  • Prepare and file local tax declarations (corporate and others)
  • Take the UK lead in ad hoc financial and commercial projects
  • Direct and indirect management of a small but professional UK Finance team

About you:

  • You will be a qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) accountant with a strong technical grounding
  • Experience of reporting within an international organisation would be advantageous
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Well-developed stakeholder management skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (Excel and Visual Basic), SAP and SAGE
  • Demonstrate the ability to improve and implement enhanced processes and controls
  • Strong analytical skills and strong problem-solving experience
  • Detail oriented, organised and accurate
