Company Accountant Part-Time

Our client is a private property business growing with an impressive portfolio spanning across NI/ROI. Due to recent investment within NI they now wish to grow the operational team with the appointment of an experienced Company Accountant to manage the financial activities of five companies within the group, based in Northern Ireland, This role will be on a part-time basis with flexibility.

Your new role

Reporting to the CFO the Company Accountant will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance, ensuring the financial health and efficiency of each company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting including, preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for each company.
  • Lead the budgeting process for each company.
  • Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting and scenario planning.
  • Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
  • Monitor and manage the cash flow of each company to ensure adequate liquidity.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and implement cash management strategies.
  • Prepare and submit tax returns and other regulatory filings.
  • Liaise with external auditors and manage the audit process for each company.
  • Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Conduct regular reviews of financial processes and controls to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making for each company.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as required by management.
  • Analyse and report on cost drivers and profitability for each company.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
  • Work closely with the finance team and other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance financial systems and processes.

What you'll need to succeed

This role is suited to an experienced self-starter that can work independently with minimal supervision. Ideally qualified (CAI, CIMA, ACA, ACCA) or Part- Qualified or QBE.
A proven ability to set up process / system implementation would be beneficial.

Excellent communication skills with an ability to partner business with internal/ external stakeholders at all levels
