Location: West Yorkshire (with regular travel throughout the UK & Ireland)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development & Sales Manager to drive sales and profitability. The ideal candidate will be responsible for generating leads, building and maintaining strong customer relations, and achieving strategic sales objectives to gain competitive advantage in the marketplace. This role requires a self-starter who can manage multiple projects and thrive in a competitive business environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key customers, building and maintaining relationships that exceed their expectations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and key management personnel to support and enhance sales efforts.
  • Manage customer relationships across the UK & Ireland, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Track and provide accurate forecasting, contributing to weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
  • Develop and implement a business marketing plan in collaboration with the General Sales Manager & Sales Director to maximise return on investment.
  • Organise and coordinate promotional activities, including conferences and exhibitions.
  • Influence and execute advertising and promotional plans to enhance brand visibility.
  • Explore and develop new business opportunities with existing and new customers.
  • Conduct regular customer supply chain reviews to improve service levels, product availability, and provide forecast information.
  • Monitor and respond to competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Ensure compliance with customer contract terms and conditions.
  • Provide management information as requested and resolve customer service issues regarding delivery, pricing, and service levels.
  • Work on key tenders, projects, and strategic product selections with the Senior Management Team.
  • Produce price lists and conduct cost and profit analysis.
  • Strengthen routes to market and prepare strategic reviews as needed.
  • Identify and address gaps in skills and knowledge, pursuing continuous professional development.

Experience & Skills

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in business development, sales, or account management.
  • Background in injection moulding or knowledge of the plastics industry is highly desirable.
  • Experience working both from home and office, with regular travel requirements.
