Finance Manager

This job is based in Rossendale - but there are opportunities for some agile working.

Our client provides sustainable, quality accommodation to individuals who require support. You will be responsible for maintaining a financial overview of the business as per the instructions of the CEO. This will include collating management accounts, developing organisation-wide financial appraisals as well as appraisals for new business opportunities, and providing assurance reporting to Board. You will be a key member of the Senior Management Team. It is a vital role in both ensuring the viability of the business, and in identifying appropriate opportunities to develop the organisation further. You will be responsible for managing the Financial Assistant.

You will have:

  • Experience of working in the housing industry (desirable).
  • Experience of budget preparation within a medium to large sized organisation.
  • CCAB qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc.).
  • Experience of preparation of management accounts.
  • Experience in using Brixx.
  • Knowledge and experience of capital and development accounting.
  • Experience of business planning and risk management.
  • Excellent organisational, communicator and people skills.
  • The ability to develop and maintain relationships with a range of internal and external partners.
  • Self-motivation.
  • A flexible approach to work.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

What you'll be doing:

Operational

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts for the CEO, and quarterly management accounts to be presented to Board.
  • Preparing reports, and attendance at Finance Committee meetings.
  • Providing line management to the Accounts Assistant, including carrying out regular performance meetings and appraisals, and supporting the post-holder to progress and improve.
  • Maintaining the financial projection model operated by the business.
  • Ensuring the financial model is stress tested in line with the business's stress-testing framework, and reported to the CEO.
  • Liaising as appropriate with funders, regulatory body's, internal and external auditors and other third party or voluntary partners of the Group including attendance at Board/EMT meetings as appropriate.
  • Leading on the service charge process including analysis of service charge income and expenses.
  • Leading on the annual rent increase process.
  • Assisting in the setting of rents and service charges for new schemes.
  • Overseeing and attending to all the 'day to day' accounts responsibilities.

Strategic

  • Assistance in preparing annual budgets.
  • Assistance in business planning.
