The Role

Reporting to the Chief Executive, this is a board level position and will have responsibility for strategic planning to deliver sustainable organic business growth against agreed performance targets and legal compliance. This role will take ownership of group wide business and systems improvement projects as well as streamlining processes in their businesses to continuously improve reporting and strengthen the integrity of the control environment. You will work in collaboration with the Chief Executive to increase the market share and profitability of their income streams.

Responsibilities include

  • Provide operational challenge, guidance and insight to ensure divisional leaders successfully undertake the day to day running of their business unit to achieve their strategic and financial objectives
  • Development of business strategy helping divisional leaders to develop sustainable strategies for organic growth
  • Continuously review existing operations to identify areas for improvement
  • Ensure the successful integration of new business acquisitions
  • Manage the financial, human and physical resources required to implement and deliver the strategy
  • Continuously review the competitive landscape and take the necessary steps to increase market share, grow revenues and customers whilst improving customer retention and brand awareness.
  • Improve digital footprint to increase online revenues in the relevant business units
  • Search for and evaluate opportunities to expand organically or via acquisition – and develop formal recommendations to the Board

The Person

  • Senior proven leadership experience with P&L responsibility within an SME
  • Strategic and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Experience in a B2C business environment who understands and can demonstrate clear customer-focus
  • Track record of delivering profitable sustainable growth
  • Demonstrable sales and business development success
  • Exposure to broad aspects of management including financial, legal, facilities, employment, H&S, operational, marketing and commercial
  • Exposure to a range of industries
  • Extensive strategic planning
  • Verifiable digital experience
