They operate from a new 39,000 square foot facility in Oxfordshire, equipped with engineering labs, custom test and validation facilities, and the manufacturing capacity to produce up to 20,000 units per annum.
The Opportunity
I am recruiting on behalf of my client for a Quality Inspector with a strong electrical understanding to join their dynamic team during this exciting high-growth phase. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring that all production assemblies meet the precise specifications required, including dimensions, materials, and associated processes. This is a critical position for maintaining the high standards of quality expected in the aerospace industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating required adjustments to the Production Manager.
- Approve finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, quarantining products for re-work, and confirming re-work completion.
- Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarising re-work and waste, and inputting data into the quality database.
- Ensure the continuous operation of measurement equipment by following operating instructions and calibration requirements and calling for repairs as necessary.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
Skills and Experience Required:
- City and Guilds, HNC, or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline.
- Previous proven experience within a manufacturing/engineering environment, ideally within the aerospace or automotive industry.
- Detailed knowledge of metrology tools and technologies.
- In-depth understanding of technical drawings, datums, and GD&T.
- Familiarity with the use and application of lean manufacturing/process improvement tools and techniques.
- Strong electrical understanding and experience working with electrically focused components.
- Effective communication skills at all levels across departments.
- IT literate, particularly within MS Office.
- A flexible approach to work with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise a varied workload.
- Desire to thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
Desirable:
- Experience in CMM programming and development.
- IPC-610 qualification.
- Experience picking and kitting parts.
