Lead Research Cloud Engineer Recruitment Agency Ref: 146333
We are exclusively partnered with King's Service Centre to recruit for a Lead Research Cloud Engineer which will play a crucial role in supporting and leading the day-to-day operation and development of the university's Research cloud-based services. This role will require expertise in DevOps practices and Microsoft Azure technologies to lead the design and deployment of Research based services into the cloud. The role will also proactively manage and maintain these services, responding to operational incidents and service request.
Salary: £47,250 per annum plus discretionary annual bonus
Duration: Permanent
Location: Hybrid - Cornwall office
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Leading the design, deployment, maintenance and support of Azure based Research services
- Developing Azure DevOps best practices
- Identifying, designing, and building CI/CD pipelines to improve the efficiency of software delivery
- Providing SME guidance, training, and support on Microsoft Cloud technologies
- Creating and reviewing comprehensive technical documentation, including high-level designs, architectural statements, and standard operating manuals
- Fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing within the team
The successful candidate will have:
- Demonstrable experience of designing, deploying, and maintaining Azure services, ideally via Azure DevOps
- Proven ability to write technical documentation (HLDs/LLDs, how-to guides etc.)
- Experience of supporting, maintaining, and developing Windows & Linux POS environments and applications within Azure
- Net / Python / PHP /Apache skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with stakeholders at all levels
